Hatchbacks have the advantage over full- and mid-size sedans when it come to fuel-efficiency and handling through city streets.  It’s also easier to find a parking spot and allow other drivers to underestimate you while you fly by them in your light and sporty vehicle.  Now, Hyundai has provided the U.S. with another quick and sporty hatchback option – The Hyundai Elantra GT.

In a recent article by Bloomberg Businessweek, one writer describes Hyundai’s new release by saying, “The new-for-2013 Hyundai Elantra GT hatchback is a stylish, fuel-sipping, nimble car with surprisingly quiet interior and luxury touches that include a huge panoramic sunroof and a sliding center armrest.”

The Elantra’s naturally-aspirated engine is paired to a six-speed transmission and is just 1 shy of 40 MPG capabilities.  Not bad for a car you can snag for under $20K, especially when you consider Hyundai’s extensive warranty program.
